Waste companies Aussie Skips Recycling and Aussie Skips Bin Services have been charged with two criminal cartel offences.

The accusations are related to price fixing for demolition waste services in Sydney. Chief executive Emmanual Roussakis faced individual charges alongside his company charges, as he was accused of direct involvement with the crimes.

Aussie Skips’ crimes date back to 2019, when it is alleged that Aussie Skips and waste company Bingo Industries agreed to increase and fix prices for the supply of skip bins and processing services.

In wake of the charges, ACCC deputy chair Mick Keogh says, “cartel conduct is a serious offence which causes significant damage to the competition, the consumers, and the wider economy.”

The matters are still in court, and the fines have been yet to be finalised at time of publishing.
