ARA Indigenous Services (ARAIS) has announced a partnership with Airservices Australia as its new national cleaning services partner.

The process began in 2022, when Airservices completed a procurement exercise for a new Cleaning and Hygiene Services contract across all its staffed facilities. Airservices asked employees to participate in monthly cleaning inspections as part of their key performance indicators and to provide feedback on the quality of services provided.

This led to the engagement of ARAIS. With an aim to ‘rewrite the playbook’, ARAIS offers a range of industrial services through the ARA Group and guides all of ARA’s divisions to meet engagement and employment objectives with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Communities.

As a certified member of Supply Nation with 51 percent Indigenous ownership, ARAIS provides cleaning and hygiene services for the aviation sector, as well as commercial, government, educational, corporate, multi-site, office and retail industries.

ARAIS will be investing in Indigenous engagement across all levels within the organisation and will assist Airservices Australia to achieve their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) targets.

“ARA Indigenous Services is very near and dear to our hearts, and we are very proud of what we have achieved so far and always looking at creating more opportunities for our people,” says ARAIS managing director Michael O’Loughlin.

“Thanks to Airservices Australia, we will be able to increase employment of Indigenous people and give back to the community and increase cultural awareness.”

Airservices category manager Leith Jensen says the new partnership will help Airservices Australia develop further partnerships with Indigenous suppliers and communities.

“We are eager to enhance our commitment to our Supplier diversity and continue to achieve our targets in this area.”
