Data intelligence provider Intellihub has been selected as the new metering coordinator for Tasmanian electricity retailer Aurora Energy.
The Australia- and New Zealand-based company has set up TasMetering, a Tasmanian-focused operation to deliver metering services to small business and residential customers under the long-term partnership.
TasMetering will be based in Hobart and led by a team with international experience. Jon Bruschi (second from left), who led one of the world’s largest smart meter deployments in Japan, as well as other rollouts in the US, has been appointed TasMetering CEO.
Local field technicians will help deliver new advanced meters to homes and businesses across the state.
The Tasmanian State Government has committed to the acceleration of the advanced meter rollout, with the aim of reaching full deployment by 2026.
Intellihub CEO Adrian Clark (second from right) is excited about the program, which “includes the next generation in metering and data delivery and advanced digital tools for customers to schedule, track and give feedback to our service.”
Intellihub’s meters eliminate estimated reads, offer digital services and are capable of dynamic load control, which aims to customers save money and install larger solar systems and improves grid safety through improved diagnostics provided to distributors.
“When paired with digital or other energy products that provide the metering data in a user friendly and informative way, advanced meters enable Tasmanians to make more informed choices about how and when to use electricity,” says Aurora CEO Rebecca Kardos (centre).
Intellihub’s metering technicians have already installed and tested the first thousand meters under the new long-term partnership.
