Australian small businesses are being invited to enter next year’s Australian Small Business Champion Awards, which honour the accomplishments and positive economic, social and cultural ripple effects generated by their efforts.

The awards cover more than 100 categories and reward stellar achievements from Australia’s small businesses in the retail, services and manufacturing industries. Interested and passionate parties are encouraged to take advantage of the free entry before 15 February 2024.

Coveted awards up for grabs include the Business of the Decade, Small Business Young Entrepreneur (aged 30 and younger), Small Business Entrepreneur (aged over 30) and the 2024 Growth Award.

Small businesses put the mighty in small and mighty

Recent Australian government data reveals the value of small businesses to the economy. Small businesses employ 5.1 million Australians, account for one-third of Australia’s GDP and occupy an instrumental role in the economies of local communities.

Awards founder and managing director of events management small business, Precedent Productions, Steve Loe acknowledges the spirit and productivity of small businesses is currently dampened due to soaring inflation, operational expenses and the crippling cost of living.

However, he remains optimistic about the tenacity of small businesses.

It is often rightly said that small business is the backbone of the national economy. The millions of Australian small business operators ought to be honoured now more than ever before for their economic contribution and support of community-based initiatives and causes,” affirms Loe.

Awards that continue to inspire

Loe has proudly presented the Australian Small Business Champion Awards for over 20 years and is constantly heart-warmed by the perseverance and talents of small business operators from all across Australia – from rural areas to suburbs, towns and bustling metropolises.

“We strive to celebrate the people behind the small businesses that shape their local communities and our nation as a whole,” says Loe.

Finalists of the 2024 program will be announced in March and winners will be unveiled via two National Presentation Evening Gala events at Sydney’s The Star on 12 and 13 April 2024.
