NEXTDC Limited and CenturyLink Inc have signed an agreement that will enable the latter to extend its data centre footprint in Australia by offering access to its full suite of managed hybrid information technology (IT) services to regional and multinational corporations in Australia.

As a result of this agreement, CenturyLink’s managed hosting and colocation services can be accessed through NEXTDC’s network of five next-generation data centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth.

CenturyLink offers hybrid IT solutions including network, managed hosting services, colocation and cloud infrastructure. The company has offered network services to many multinational and regional companies within Australia since 2002. It aims to deploy its public cloud service within the country by the end of 2015.

The new partnership will enable CenturyLink and NEXTDC to sell into each other’s data centres. While this new outsourcing approach will help Australian businesses wanting to enhance their international reach with CenturyLink’s managed hybrid IT services, it will also allow existing global CenturyLink customers to gain a physical presence in Australia.
