Daikin Park Melbourne opening

Daikin has opened a new state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Truganina, an industrial precinct in Melbourne’s west.

Daikin Park Melbourne will serve as a comprehensive logistics solution to optimise fulfilment and dispatch operations for finished goods and spare parts in Victoria.

The 13,603-metres-squared site officially opened on 6 June and offers a storage capacity of 40,000 cubic metres. Daikin Park Melbourne incorporates 99 kilowatts of solar panels and an estimated outbound freight of 700,000 cubic metres per year.

The facility also houses a Daikin Trade Centre, a multi-purpose space that will be used for training and as a drop-in office for Daikin staff west of Melbourne.

The air-conditioning manufacturer says the new development is part of an Australian expansion program to improve Daikin’s supply chain, with other facilities planned for Brisbane and Adelaide.

“This significant investment in a new warehousing facility will help improve the efficiency of our supply chain, with a focus on better supporting our customers through Daikin’s direct control of its logistics,” says Daikin Australia managing director Isao Tsumura.

“In establishing this facility, Daikin has added up to 15 new jobs to Truganina.”
