Dotz Nano Limited, a carbon management technology company, has unveiled a new platform that offers commercial facilities an upgrade on their heating and hot-water systems without the otherwise significant upfront costs associated with it.
The platform, Dotz Energy, will target hotels, hospitals, aged-care facilities and large residential buildings with a funded shared-savings model.
In the facilities targeted by the company, heating, hot water and plant-room systems can represent a meaningful operating cost.
As a funded shared-savings model, Dotz can fund and deploy the required equipment, with the customers paying from verified savings generated by the project instead of carrying the full capital cost upfront.
Savings are measured against an agreed baseline using live metering and engineering assessments.
“The commercial model only works if the savings are real,” Dotz Nano CEO Nati Harpaz says. “That is why measurement, verification and engineering assessment are built into the platform from the start.”
Dotz Energy will connect to existing plant room infrastructure and bring together technologies including heat pumps, sensors, metering, thermal storage and energy recovery.
It uses AI-assisted optimisation to monitor energy use and improve system performance in real time.
Harpaz says that the new technology system is ideal for building owners and operators trying to cut energy costs and emissions without having to shut down ongoing essential operations or committing to major infrastructure works.
The company says the platform is suited to buildings with high thermal-energy demand, large monthly energy bills and central plant systems, and which typically require 24×7 operations.
“Large buildings waste energy every day, particularly where they have legacy heating, hot water or plant room systems,” Harpaz says.
“Dotz Energy is designed to turn that problem into a measurable savings opportunity. We fund and operate the technology, optimise the system with AI and measure the results, so customers can reduce energy use and emissions without needing a major plant room rebuild.”
