A field inspection app has landed Brisbane-headquartered Dingo the 2015 Austmine Innovation Award for Mining Equipment Technology Services.
Austmine is the peak industry body in Australia for the mining equipment, technology and services sector. The prestigious award recognises a new innovative product, process or strategy that truly stands out from the crowd in terms of wider implications for mining operations or the industry as a whole.
On average, mining maintenance accounts for 30-50 percent of total operating costs for a mine, so a sound maintenance program can lower production costs and provide a significant competitive advantage.
Dingo, a condition management software and services provider, received the Austmine Innovation Award for METS (Mining Equipment Technology Services) for its Trakka Field Inspection App, and was awarded the honour at the Austmine 2015 conference in Brisbane, Australia.
“Their Trakka Field Inspection App is a unique and novel development that is a simple, but incredibly effective method for addressing a very real need in the industry. It is intuitive, allows informed real-time decision making, and fits smoothly into existing operations.”
The Trakka Field Inspection App for iPhones and other mobile devices is an end-to-end solution for field inspection data capture and analysis. This app enables maintenance technicians to easily capture images, along with notes and ratings, on their mobile devices while physically inspecting equipment. This observation data then integrates directly with Trakka, Dingo’s proprietary condition management software, allowing a centralised expert to easily review, analyse and extract the maximum value from this information.
“Austmine was delighted to award Dingo the 2015 Austmine Innovation Award for METS,” said Christine Gibbs Stewart, CEO of Austmine. “Their Trakka Field Inspection App is a unique and novel development that is a simple, but incredibly effective method for addressing a very real need in the industry. It is intuitive, allows informed real-time decision making, and fits smoothly into existing operations.” These benefits led the judges to unanimously select the Field Inspection App as the winner in a highly competitive field of over twenty submissions for the award.
According to Paul Higgins, CEO, Dingo, “We developed this product in response to the growing market need to use smart devices and images to improve maintenance decisions. Winning the METS Innovation Award is a true testament to the creative spirit of our company. I am thrilled that Dingo has won this prestigious award.”
