Honeywell has collaborated with Rhombus, a cloud-based video management provider, to expand its security and access solutions portfolio.
Rhombus‘ AI analytics will now directly be embedded into Honeywell’s access control platforms, which are further integrated in building management systems.
With Rhombus’ AI-powered platform, customers will be able to gain insights from video data beyond traditional surveillance.
Using capabilities such as Rhombus Insights, customers can train AI prompts to analyse activity patterns, investigate incidents more efficiently and better understand how physical spaces are being used.
The solution is designed for a variety of commercial environments, including retail chains, fitness centres, schools and other distributed sites.
By way of an integration and reseller agreement, Honeywell will also offer Rhombus products through its channel partners and system integrator networks.
Rhombus products will initially be available through Honeywell in North America before deployment across other regions.

According to Omdia, cloud video solutions are growing annually at more than 20 percent and are projected to be the fastest-growing segment in the security industry through 2029.
Honeywell’s latest collaboration with Rhombus comes a few years after it began making a dedicated push into the access security space with the mega US$4.95 billion acquisition of Carrier Global Corporation’s Global Access Solutions business two years ago.
