In a bid to populate the city fringe with flexible and accessible working spaces, Hub Australia has announced the development of Hub Fitzroy at One Smith Street, which will make it the tenth Hub Australia site in Melbourne.

Reputable workspace operator, Hub Australia, responds to the need for high-quality co-working working solutions located away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD. In collaboration with respected developer Pellicano, Hub Australia will bring four floors of workspaces to One Smith Street and further enrich the suburb culture grounded in creativity and an appreciation for the arts.

A city of hybrid work

Melbourne seemed the obvious choice for Hub Australia to trial its work-near-home ecosystem, as the Victorian state capital is known for an embrace of hybrid work routines.

According to commercial real estate agency CBRE, Melburnian workers are reportedly the most apprehensive to return to the office and crave a working week that lends itself towards short commutes, flexibility and a consideration for employee wellbeing.

Hub Fitzroy will add to the workspace operator’s already strong presence in the city fringe, as Hub Australia opened a site in Box Hill’s biggest shopping centre only last year.

Redefining the workspace

Hub Australia’s chief executive officer Brad Krauskopf says Hub Fitzroy marks a new era in the “metropolitan network of flexible workspaces” expansion.

“We’re supporting businesses that are looking for a mix of diverse workplaces in key locations in and around the CBD,” says Krauskopf.

Krauskopf speaks of the greater willingness of businesses and organisations to think beyond the traditional confines of workspaces in meeting employee expectations regarding a healthy work-life balance.

“Employers are now focused on retaining staff and creating the ultimate workplace experience,” says Krauskopf.

“Hub’s near-to-home locations provide the backdrop for businesses to provide a great level of detail and a benchmark for the future of work.”
