Queensland-headquartered Louvreclad has unveiled its Aerion Series vertical louvre system, which it says is a result of a collaboration with Formula 1 aerodynamic engineers.
A louvre system is typically a type of roof or wall that uses a series of adjustable, horizontal slats (louvres) to control ventilation and sunlight, as well as provide weather protection.
The latest Aerion Series is made from lightweight 6063-T5 extruded aluminium and is available in very low-carbon material options.
It is non-combustible (AS1530.1- and AS1530.3-compliant) and is supported by a 15- to 30-year coating warranty, besides Louvreclad’s own guarantee.
The company says that every detail of the extruded aluminium blade profile is refined for Class 1 aerodynamics (0.81 coefficient of discharge), meaning air passes faster with less resistance.
That in turn leads to lower HVAC energy loads and greater efficiency, as well as cooler, more sustainable buildings.
Its Class A rain resistance has been independently certified to a new global benchmark for protection against wind-driven rain, AS 4740:2025.
That certification means it is 99 to 100 percent effective against rain with up to 5 m/s core velocity.
The Aerion Series is made locally within Louvreclad’s Brisbane facility. The company notes that, with a 150mm blade depth, 30mm pitch and minimal framing requirements, the new product offers zero-vision screening, durability and a clean linear aesthetic.
