A new technical bulletin for fire safety compliance requirements for rigid ductwork systems has been released by Kingspan Air Delivery Systems.

Kingspan Air Delivery Systems has released a new technical bulletin for fire safety compliance requirements for rigid ductwork systems. Keith Anderson, technical manager at Kingspan Air Delivery Systems, says the guide simplifies often complicated regulations and building codes.
“The National Construction Code’s Building Code of Australia can be very complex at times, making reference to multiple documents and standards. This bulletin really helps to simplify the fire safety requirements for all engineers and building professionals involved in the design, specification and installation of rigid ductwork systems,” he states.
Understanding the fire safety requirements will help reduce the risks and professional liabilities, Anderson notes.
“There may be some imported products on the market that have not undergone the required fire tests. We urge all engineers, building professionals and ducting contractors to demand evidence of compliance to these tests to reduce their own risks and liabilities,” he continues. “Without them, a ductwork system, will by definition not comply with the NCC,” he concludes.
The guide is available for download from Kingspan Air Delivery Systems’ website.
