ABB Australia has been named the 2020 winner for Excellence in Sustainability at the 2020-2021 Swedish Business in Australia Awards.

The prize recognises ABB Australia’s innovative products and solutions for smart cities, manufacturing and transportation, and how they enable the transition to a low-carbon society.

The company has demonstrated a number of ‘firsts’ in sustainable design and engineering, including South Australia’s first 10-star rated home, Western Australia’s first electronic bus route and the southern hemisphere’s largest healthcare building automation project with Calvary Adelaide Hospital.

“It’s clear that the innovative use of technology is key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” says David Sullivan, head of ABB Australia’s electrification business. “ABB is helping more and more customers achieve their sustainability goals and reduce their energy use, particularly in industry, buildings and transport – sectors that together account for nearly three-quarters of global energy consumption.

“We are very proud to be acknowledged by the Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce for our genuine focus on sustainability through the application of our technology and expertise,” Sullivan says.
