Melbourne-based property development and investment company Salta has launched a new engagement app specifically for commercial and industrial tenants.

Developed in partnership with Equiem, Atlas (an anadrome for Salta) aims to support navigation, discovery and connection within Salta’s precincts, creating a digital extension of the physical environment.

“Atlas is about strengthening relationships and improving the tenant experience in a practical, meaningful way. It supports our teams on the ground while giving tenants a simple, time-efficient way to stay informed, connected and engaged with their precinct and the people within it,” Salta’s director of asset management Melissa Kidd says.

The app was first released in Salta’s Nexus Dandenong South Industrial Precinct in Melbourne. The facility has a diverse mix of logistics, manufacturing and service-based businesses.

Spanning approximately 180 hectares overall, Nexus Dandenong South houses brands including Bunnings and Woolworths, with 18 businesses now operating within the precinct.

It includes Walkinshaw, which last year committed to Salta’s largest pre-lease to date, spanning more than 100,000 square metres.

“We have over 1000 staff who come and go from our premises at any given time. Having a single platform that improves communication, access to services and connection within the precinct adds real value to the day-to-day experience for our teams for whenever they come to site,” Walkinshaw marketing manager Julie Hurst says.

The development of Atlas was reportedly shaped directly by feedback through Salta’s Annual Tenant Engagement Survey, with tenants responding to a clear appetite for improved connectivity, easier access to information and a centralised platform for communication.

The app provides a dedicated hub for critical health and safety updates, ensuring all workers across the precinct have timely access to key information and protocols.

The launch of the app in Melbourne comes as Victoria accounted for almost 50 percent of Australia’s total industrial floorspace leased between 2020 and 2024, according to the Property Council of Australia’s 10-Year Plan for Industrial Land Supply report.

“By learning what types of information, support and activations resonate with our tenants, we’ll be able to keep our industrial communities serviced, informed and, most importantly, happy,” Kidd adds.
