A new range of RFID locker locks has been designed to streamline locker management while simplifying locker use for users.

Centaman’s new range of RFID (radio frequency identification) locker locks, SI Locks, is designed to streamline locker management while simplifying locker use for users.
The SI Lock is a self-contained motorised smart lock without any wiring requirement. The standalone lock operates on a battery that is designed to provide 10,000 cycles. It offers two operating modes, one where a visitor can select any free locker available or one where a locker is assigned to only one specified visitor.
When a user wants to use a locker he holds up his RFID credentials to the lock and this locks the locker. Only the same RFID credential or a master override card will then unlock that locker. As the SI Lock is based on read/write Mifare technology, the system checks if the user already has a locker in use and, if so, it inhibits the use of a second locker.
The SI Lock is available with an optional ‘offline’ management software solution that provides typical ‘online’ features, but saves the cost of hardwiring the locks back to the management system.
