ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo

The ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo is returning to Melbourne on 1-2 November 2023 to showcase the latest advancements in the cleaning industry.

Hosted by the worldwide cleaning industry association ISSA, the highly anticipated two-day event will bring together the industry’s leading experts, innovators and professionals, including over 90 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services.

Last year saw a 25 percent growth in visitors, who came from over 20 countries – and the expo is expecting even more to attend this year.

“The industry is excited to return to Melbourne and it is set to be the largest event to date,” says ISSA Oceania manager Lauren Micallef.

“This year we were successful in acquiring additional floor space to help us cater for the show’s early demand, which included a mix of new exhibitors as well as past participants taking up bigger and grander stands.”

The show anticipates over 3000 attendees will descend on the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre this November, from facility and building managers to contract cleaners, healthcare and aged care representatives, as well as individuals from the government and the education sectors.

“Where else in Australia can you meet with so many leading manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers in one location, demonstrating their innovations and sharing their industry insight?” asks ISSA Oceania Advisory Council chair Stuart Nicol.

“The ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo allows for the opportunity to meet face-to-face and get a feel for what a supplier is really proposing in a more hands-on environment.”

Expo

Attendees can hear from over 90 exhibitors about the latest cleaning products and services.

The education program

The expo’s education program will take place over two days and features 40 speakers, 16 free-to-attend speaker sessions plus onsite workshops.

The program will cover a variety of topics that have been designed to provide attendees with the knowledge and tools to grow their business, develop their staff and remain up-to-date with industry trends and emerging developments.

A variety of panel discussions between industry thought leaders and stakeholders will expand the number of professionals that the audience can tap into on topics such as infection prevention, technology and innovation, environmental and sustainability needs, scope of works, supply chain and workforce development.

Cleaning for health

A key trend that will be addressed throughout the expo will be ‘cleaning for health’.

One of the highlights of the education program will be the ‘Clean and Thriving: Unleashing the Power of Your Cleaning for Health Story’ workshop. Delivered by Global Biorisk Advisory Council senior director, Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner, the workshop will delve into the importance of creating a healthy indoor environment through proper cleaning and maintenance practices.

“Knowing how to clean for health creates a safe environment for patients, visitors, and workers,” he says.

FMA session

The Facility Management Association’s (FMA) Victorian Chapter will host a technical breakfast and industry-standard session on Thursday 2 November.

“We are excited to collaborate with the ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo and provide our members with the opportunity to engage with fellow attendees and leading suppliers within the industry. It’s an opportunity to network and uncover the latest innovations that will benefit the facilities management sector,” says Sebastian Group managing director, Matt Marsh.

INCLEAN Excellence Awards

The Expo will also feature the 2023 INCLEAN Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate the latest innovations and recognise the outstanding achievements of people who work in the industry.

“Last year the awards received the largest number of entries to date, and we are expecting 2023 to be even bigger,” says Micallef.

Awards finalists will showcase their products in the ‘Innovation Zone’ on the show floor and the winners will be announced during the networking event on Wednesday. This will provide expo attendees with an exclusive opportunity to interact with industry leaders, forge valuable connections and expand their network of business professionals.
