A global engineering and logistics automation company has introduced a rental program for its voice-directed picking technologies to help warehouse and distribution centre managers meet the demands of peak sales periods.
Voice technology customers can now rent a variety of voice equipment from Dematic for use by seasonal staff. The program is designed to provide a flexible, short-term option that users of the company’s Vocollect picking solution can turn to during busy periods, such as the Christmas rush.
According to Brian Lang, Dematic’s General Manager of Real Time Logistics, the rental program provides a customised option better catered to warehouses and distribution centres that experience temporary fluctuations in picking demands.
“In the past, customers were required to choose between purchasing or leasing voice installations that met their overall long-term business requirements, including peak periods. Now with the new Voice Rental Program, customers have a cost-efficient stopgap solution that supports order fulfilment when temporary upsurges in demand occur.”
