Waste management and resource recovery optimisation are high on the agenda for councils, businesses, venues, facilities and complexes, and it will be at Waste Expo Australia where strategies will be discovered.
Set to be held October 23 and 24 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Waste Expo Australia will showcase more than 120 suppliers alongside the largest and most comprehensive free-to-attend conference for the waste management and resource recovery sectors.
Attendees will have access to premium free-to-attend conference content at the Waste and Wastewater Summits across the two-day event. Over 100 speakers will present across three conference stages, offering exclusive access to seven targeted streams including resource recovery, waste-to-energy, collections, landfill and transfer stations, construction and demolition waste, commercial and industrial waste as well as wastewater treatment.
The Waste Summit Conference, brought to you by Oceania Clean Energy Solutions, features two streams – construction and demolition and commercial and industrial waste – that will enable businesses to discover ways to optimise their waste management. Key speakers will include Victoria’s Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio MP, Sam Trowse project lead (land use planning) Sustainability Victoria, Jim Appleby general manager reconomy, transport and infrastructure Downer and Peter Mulherin researcher RMIT University as well as case study presentations from councils, contractor and leading suppliers.
Jim Appleby, general manager reconomy, transport and infrastructure Downer will discuss the lack of viable alternative methods for taking recycled products to the market. In this session, Jim will share real life examples of where the loop has been effectively closed, discuss some of the hurdles that have been faced and overcome and consider what the government and industry can do to enable increased activity.
Sustainability Victoria’s project lead Sam Trowse will present the organisation’s better practice guide for waste management and recycling in multi-unit developments. The guide has been developed to assist those involved in designing, planning, developing, building and managing multi-unit developments (MUDs) to incorporate better waste management and recycling into all stages of a development’s life. The session will outline essential points to consider when designing a waste management system for medium or high-density residential, mixed-use and precinct-scale developments.
Peter Mulherin will discuss compliance to circularity in the construction industry. This session will address the consumer demand for compliance to environmental standards, codes and regulations that has prompted greater recovery and repurposing of natural resources. It will also identify how businesses can best recover waste at various stages of a product life cycle and supply chain to facilitate a circular economy.
Alongside this comprehensive multi-stream conference will be the largest supplier showcase, with over 120 brands including Method Recycling, Tech Collect, Telford Smith, Solar Bins, Enrich 360, Cleanaway, Source Separation Systems, Wormlovers, Ecycle Solutions, Recycle Pack and Eco Guardians ready to present product solutions that can improve your waste management processes.
Another significant benefit of Waste Expo Australia is its co-location with All-Energy Australia, Energy Efficiency Expo and ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo forming the nation’s most significant showcase for the waste, recycling, wastewater, renewable energy, energy efficiency and cleaning industries.
Across the two days at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, attendees will have unrivalled access to industry speakers and suppliers across waste management, wastewater treatment, energy generation, energy efficiency and cleaning and hygiene.
Registration gives you access to all four events on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 October 2019 from 9am to 5pm each day.
