The ‘Facilities Managers’ Guide to Workplace Safety 2014/2015′ is distributed free of charge to large commercial facilities including airports, shopping centres, universities and high-rise complexes. The guide aims to ensure that all building owners and property managers of commercial buildings, work supervisors and principal contractors are kept up-to-date with information about site safety, and the building and facilities management process.
Prominent topics include current WHS (work health and safety) legislation and regulations and the implications for building and facilities managers as Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBUs). PCBUs must comply with WHS legislation to ensure the health and safety of workers and those persons otherwise present at the workplace to eliminate the risk of injury and to minimise those unavoidable risks as far as reasonably practicable.
