Australian cloud-based building and facility management platform MYBOS has expanded its operations to the US.

The platform helps property managers and building owners simplify operational complexity, improve compliance and gain greater visibility over maintenance, assets and communications.

The company says that it currently supports over 3000 buildings, several hundred thousand users and millions of work orders annually.

Its clients include heavyweights such as Meriton, Accor Group, JLL, Frasers Property, Oaks and Chanel, among others, which collectively manage $225 billion in assets.

Founded and led by entrepreneur Sam Khalef, MYBOS was fully bootstrapped. Its international markets already include New Zealand and the UAE.

Khalef grew up in Sydney and worked as an on-site building manager, where his frustration with the lack of effective management systems led him to develop MYBOS in his grandmother’s garage.

“To take something that started in a garage and grow it into a profitable, global platform, without external funding, has been a huge journey, and this next phase is about scaling that impact internationally,” Khalef says.

MYBOS says that, in the US, the size of the market opportunity is valued at US$240 million.

Following the US, the company plans to expand further into the vast North American and European markets with anticipated launches in Canada and the UK.

It also expects to begin formal IPO (Initial Public Offering) planning as part of its long-term business strategy. While the timelines for a listing on the ASX are yet to be crystallised, MYBOS says that it views such a move “as a natural evolution of its growth journey”.
