Samsung Electronics has launched a new range of LED lamps, adding a host of features and options while improving energy use.

The first of the B2B offerings launched at the Light + Building 2014 trade fair taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, this week, is a PAR lamp with a high CRI of over 90 suited for professional interior and colour-critical applications.

Its lightweight structure means it can be installed without straining already existing fixtures, and a swivel head gives customers the flexibility to set the unit without the need of additional fixtures.

Next are an LED Classic Lamp is designed to deliver a warm and inviting environment similar to that of incandescent lighting, and an L-tube series which is compatible with conventional ballast and can be easily installed without re-wiring of fixtures. It is ECG/CCG compatible.

Finally, and of more interest to the home consumer market, is the CCT tuneable Smart Bulb, which uses Bluetooth wireless technology to allow connection and control directly from a smartphone or tablet PC. Users can access and control up to 64 Smart Bulbs with no additional equipment or setup.

The Smart Bulb can be dimmed down to 10 percent brightness and is CCT tuneable from 2700K (arm white) to 6500K (cool white). Samsung says that, with a lifetime of 15,000 hours per Smart Bulb, users will receive about 10 years of highly efficient light.
