Signify, which recently reported global first-quarter sales of EUR 1.4 billion, has launched a new wireless emergency lighting portfolio and monitoring system.
Powered by Signify’s Interact cloud-based lighting system, the new system is making its global debut in Australia and New Zealand through the company’s Pierlite portfolio. A rollout in Europe is scheduled for September.
In 2022, Signify acquired lighting and technology company Pierlite from the Australian-based Gerard Lighting Group.
The latest release from Signify enables building managers to control, monitor and test emergency lighting, as well as produce compliance reports through the cloud-supported dashboard.
The Interact Building Manager system automates function and duration tests while delivering data insights and health status alerts.
Signify says the system is designed to support compliance with local emergency lighting regulations by enabling multiple testing schedules, simplifying maintenance and generating reports for regulatory documentation.
Meeting the needs of facility managers
There are four key configurations when it comes to buildings: general lighting fixtures with built-in emergency capabilities, wireless DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) extenders and sensors, wireless exit signs, and emergency lights.
Signify says these can be commissioned and deployed under one contract and a single dashboard, designed to enable cost savings and efficient monitoring of an entire lighting system.
Alternatively, emergency lighting can be installed and commissioned independently to achieve mandatory building compliance.
The company’s executive vice president of systems and services, Greg Nelson, says the new system provides building managers with better visibility and control over their emergency lighting with regular proof of performance.
