Melbourne-headquartered automatic door manufacturer Access Entry has completed its rebranding to Gilgen Door Systems.
It comes nearly a year after the Switzerland-based Gilgen announced that it had acquired a major stake in Access Entry.
Access Entry has established itself over the past 25 years in Australia with manufacturing, sales and service teams spread across the country, including in Brisbane and Sydney.
Its products and services are supplied to commercial, industrial, government and retail facilities, including shopping centres and cool room facilities, with expertise in the hospitals, aged care and education markets.
The newly rebranded company will act as Gilgen’s subsidiary in Australia and will be led by ongoing shareholder and managing director Richard Whitfield.
“This brand expansion is a great development for architects, builders, property investors and owners or managers of broad categories of commercial and government buildings,” Whitfield says.
Gilgen Door Systems, which was founded in 1961, has more than 1000 staff working on its range of automatic door systems, gates, sliding walls, platform screen doors and high-security shutters.
“We will expand our focus within existing and new markets, including public and private commercial buildings, extending from corporate HQs to multi-tenant facilities, data centres and high-value facilities requiring high-security door and gate systems of a quality and flexibility that combine strong traffic flow with aesthetically pleasing security functionality,” Whitfield says.
Gilen has built a reputation for itself in the infrastructure sector with large-scale and custom automatic door and gate systems for sectors such as public transport, tunnels and large buildings. Its expertise includes installing platform screen doors for metro lines, custom doors and gates for tunnels and cable cars, as well as automatic door systems for office buildings.
Its technology platform, Gilgen Connect, serves as an intelligent door system that integrates with building management systems and uses IoT (Internet of Things) technology to provide digital access and control for connected doors and gates.
