MYOB has opened online pre-registrations for its new PayDirect mobile payments solution, which aims to turn small businesses’ Apple iOS or Android smartphones into quick and easy payments terminals. The product is due for limited release on 31 March, with a general release planned for next quarter.
The app includes AccountRight Live integration for clients running their accounts in the cloud – which adds invoicing and contacts to the mix – and integration with the MYOB Essentials range. Other features such as EFTPOS compatibility will follow.
The module connects to compatible smartphones via an audio jack, accepts ‘swipe and sign’ and ‘chip and sign’ credit cards, has a daily transaction limit per merchant of $2,500 and, when fully charged, will perform up to 2,500 transactions.
“Operators can take credit card payments and administer receipts and invoices on the spot, rather than having to return to the office, to generate and send them, and then wait weeks to get paid,” said MYOB general manager, Connected Services, Andrew Birch.
